Announcing Pam Martinez of DATTCO and Dennis King of King Gray to the GNJMA Board of Directors!

We are pleased to announce Pamela Martinez, DATTCO, Inc. and Dennis King, King Gray Coach Lines were elected to the GNJMA Board of Directors by the voting members. Please take a moment to read more about them below.

Pam has been with DATTCO since 2000. she worked for another Transportation Company as a General Manager and Corporate Treasurer. Overall between the two Companies, Pam has over 40 years of transportation experience.

 

She has an AS Degree in Administration and a BS Degree in Management from Quinnipiac College. She also has an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from The University of New Haven.

 

Pam is on the Alumni Board for Quinnipiac University. She is also a member of ABA’s Women-In-Buses, the Human Resources Council for the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, and the Transportation, Distribution Logistics Committee for Capitol Workforce Partners.  She is the Past Chairman of the Bus Industry Safety Council for the American Bus Association and has served as the President of the Connecticut Bus Association. She also has held the position of Risk Control Chairperson of TRAX insurance, and the Chairman of the Workplace Health and Environmental Safety Committee for the Bus Industry Safety Council for several years, along with board positions for the Northeast School Transportation Safety Institute, The Connecticut School Transportation Association, the Southington Chamber of Commerce, and the Milford Newcomers. 

Pam has been a speaker on Human Resources and Safety topics for several organizations, including the TRAX Insurance Group, The Bus Industry Safety Council, The American Bus Association, the United Motorcoach Association, the International Motorcoach Group, the Safety Summit, and Women-in-Buses. 


Upon graduating from Agawam High School, Agawam, MA, Dennis enlisted in the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Being stationed on the USCGC Snohomish, USCGC Spencer, he attended school at the Petaluma, CA training center, and then worked at the USCG Academy in New London, CT.

He began his career in the Motorcoach business working for the King family business in 1989. His first job was driving a special-needs school run, and cleaning and washing vehicles in between the school runs.

He became the Dispatcher/Operations Manager. and like many in family businesses wore many hats from driver, bookkeeper, and eventually was promoted to General Manager.

After he married his high school sweetheart in August of 2002, he purchased the family business from his father in October 2003, and purchased a building in January 2004 in Chicopee, MA. This also became his home. 

Dennis has served as the President of the New England Bus Association; he is a member of the Agawam Veteran’s Council and serves as a Trustee at his local church.
